What should I wear?

I was at a friend’s wedding a couple of months ago. It was a garden wedding at one of the top golf resorts. There was no dress code so that meant it’s open party. But if you are like me, what seemed easy abruptly turned to be a wardrobe mix and match nightmare. It helped that the wedding was a few days away and so if it was necessary, I’d have to walk into a shop to get the right outfit! To be honest, I wasn’t sure what to wear. Should I play it safe in a dress or experimental and adventurous in a random outfit?
I battled the ideas as more clothes hit the floor and fewer hanging in the wardrobe. My heart was screaming semi-rugged jeans, my brain was questioning then what? I have read through so many “Wedding outfits don’ts” and jeans for a long time has been on the extreme end of ‘no nos’ let alone a rugged one.

I trashed the unpublished rule book for a moment and explored, “What style defines me?” Voila! The answer to that question made the rest of the process easy. With the heart and the mind reconciled and a couple of days to the wedding, it was my rugged pair of jeans, paired with a long striped blue and white semi formal shirt. My maroon ankle strapped, closed chunky heels completed the outfit. Then a black box handbag to accessorize and fill in with modest jewellery.

A great look at no extra cost.
